Prior to the Imjin War, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Changgyeonggung Palace were used. After the Imjin War, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, and Gyeonghui Palace were used. After King Gojong ascended the throne in the 19th century, Gyeongbokgung Palace was built and used until before Agwanpacheon. Gyeongunggung Palace, which was used since 1897, was not only a palace of Joseon but also a central palace during the Korean Empire.
