LeBron James has been compared to Michael Jordan for most of his career
Lebron James Is Good than MJ
Don’t ever try telling Charles Barkley that LeBron James is as great as Michael Jordan.
With LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers getting swept by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, Barkley believes “The King” should not be put in the same sentence with Jordan in the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate.
And if any media person does, the NBA great said he won’t be holding back.
“Any media person that I see in person for the rest of my life who try to tell LeBron James is as good as Michael Jordan, I’m just gotta slap the hell out of them right on the spot. No questions asked,” the Inside the NBA analyst said on live television.
The 33-year-old has now lost 6 of the NBA Finals series he had played on. The sweep from Golden State is James’ second in his 15-year career after bowing out to the San Antonio Spurs in 2007 in 4 games. (READ: LeBron reveals he played 3 games with broken hand)
Interestingly, 6 is also the number of Jordan’s NBA championships. “His Airness” went a perfect 6-of-6 in the NBA’s grandest stage, achieving two 3-peats within 8 years.
“The next person who walks up to me and say ‘LeBron James is amazing. He’s good as Michael Jordan or competes like Michael Jordan,’ I’m just got to slap of you right on the spot.”
It is not the first time Barkley had been critical of James, though.
When James was edged out by Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in total player votes for the 2018 Eastern Conference All-Star squad, Barkley was quick to call out the 4-time Most Valuable Player.
Say About Lebron James?
” Lebron James is a great player and a great guy, but he is a drama queen,” Barkley said on Inside the NBA.
Earlier this year, Lebron James retaliated against Barkley’s criticisms, telling ESPN that the 55-year-old is a “hater.”
James also enumerated some of the controversies Barkley was embroiled in, including spitting on a an 8-year-old girl during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers.
With the possibility of James leaving Cleveland as a free agent in the offseason, we can expect Barkley to have another hot take.
