MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – A Korean national was shot dead in San Juan Thursday morning.

A report by dzMM’s Dexter Ganibe said the Korean, identified as Hyung Koor, was found dead inside his black Ford Expedition with plate number HUR 333 at the corner of Ortigas Avenue and Connecticut street.

San Juan Police said the victim was heading for EDSA when the unidentified gunmen shot him.

In its Twitter account, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the eastbound lane of Ortigas Avenue has been temporarily closed to traffic.

An investigation is being conducted by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) as of posting. A security guard who witnessed the incident is now coordinating with the authorities
