About me

I'm Yemisi. An online EFL tutor from Nigeria. I help children and teenagers around the world grow their English skills from the comfort of their own home. I create a warm, engaging virtual classroom where young learners feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and most importantly enjoy the process of learning English. I specialise in working with learners aged 4-19, delivering live one-on-one lessons via video call that are interactive, age-appropriate, and built around each student's individual goals and pace. Online learning works best when it's dynamic and personal — so I make sure every session is far from a passive experience. From interactive games and digital flashcards to collaborative storytelling and screen-based activities, I keep students engaged from start to finish.

Experience

I'm a TEFL-certified English tutor with 3+ years of teaching experience. I help children and teenagers become confident readers, writers and speakers of English. I currently tutor six children in Nigeria and the United States, building each lesson around the child's level and the parent's goals. I also prepare learners for Cambridge exams, including Starters, Movers, Flyers and KET. At Butsay Cornerstone International School, I tutored 50+ learners, and 90% reached their target scores. Parents want to know how their child is doing, so I give clear progress updates and make lessons engaging enough that children look forward to them.
